Die charges are per side and are in addition to the unit price shown on this web site. Necessary coining dies are engraved by our master die sculptors who use a combination of techniques to faithfully recreate your design in metal. For this reason, we require good, clean, black and white, camera-ready artwork. Artwork services are available for an additional charge. Please call for prices.
Our engraving charges cover only a portion of the overall cost of producing working dies. Therefore, we retain title and possession of all dies and preparatory work. Dies can be shipped to the customer for a payment of 30% of the original die cost. However, if dies are returned for use, we cannot guarantee that they can be reused, nor can we guarantee against breakage.
STYLE--SL
Single Level Raised-Line Logos, Trademarks and Caricatures. Everything in the design is raised to the same level. 2 dimensional effect.
Paper proof only for SL dies.
One lead proof of each new ML & DR style die is furnished at no additional charge. Dies will be hardened and polished and production can begin only after written acceptance of the proof is received.
Artwork should be submitted 4-6 times actual size with all lettering and images in position. All artwork shown in black will be raised on the coin. Half tones and shading can not be reproduced on a coin and should be eliminated. For busts and detailed buildings, our engravers require line art as well as a photograph for reference. Please proof all artwork carefully. Changes made after a die is started may require engraving a complete new die at the customers expense. Artwork preparation is available, including typesetting, touch up, photo conversion.
Artwork files can be e-mailed to the following address: artwork@osbornecoin.com. All artwork is preferred in an IBM PC Compatible format. Macintosh files should be saved in a PC format when possible. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop files are preferred.
